Seraphim Singers commissions work by Avner Dorman

The Seraphim Singers (Boston, MA) have commissioned a new work by Israeli-American composer Avner Dorman. The 70 Names of Jerusalem for SATB choir will be given its world premiere by Seraphim under the baton of founder and music director Jennifer Lester on April 26, 2015, in Cambridge, MA. The 5-minute work will be featured on the program "Jerusalem: Holy, Disputed, Lamented," a collaboration with Kol Arev Chamber Choir of Hebrew College which explores the music, history and biblical importance of the city. This marks Seraphim's second commission of Dorman (the first being his Psalm 67 in 2003). www.seraphimsingers.org
