Premieres

Acappellago, in its twelth season of bring a cappella music to the western suburbs of Chicago, presented three premieres at its annual holiday concerts on December 7 & 8, 2013. The first was the US premiere of "O Magnum Mysterium" by Icelandic composer, Sigurour Saevarsson. The second was the Chicago area premiere of "Blessed be that Maid Marie," winner of the 2012 Choir & Organ magazine composition contest & written by Ireland's Sean Doherty. The third was an arrangement by one of Acappellago's members, Lorinda Wright, for 4 part women's voices & guitar of "He Shall be Born," written in 1985 by Mary Rice Hopkins & Wendy Talbot Francisco.
